The scope of works for this project entailed a number of different factors including the installation of upgraded GLA / play ground areas to 3 tiers from one side of the school to the other stretching along the entire street frontage.
The project presented unique challenges as it was carried out in one of the busiest areas of the school. To ensure minimal disruption, the works were carefully planned and executed in stages.
The installation of upgrade GLA & playground areas across multiple tiers required meticulous planning and coordination. Secure Building Solutions worked closely with the school administration to develop a [phased approach that allowed for the seamless execution of the project while minimizing disruptions to the schools’ daily operations.
Other challenges presented by the site included extensive design and & careful planning to build tiered seating and construct improved landscaping spaces with which did not interfere or cause any harm to the existing trees which were to remain in-situ on site. Working closely with the architect, structural engineer and arborist, the project management team were able to provide solutions to consultants which enabled the design criteria to be met.
Due to damage cause by existing trees, the entire stormwater system for the front of the school needed to be upgraded. SBS coordinated and worked closely with both the hydraulic engineer and trade -sub-contractor to provide efficient solutions which would benefit the school for years to come.
This project gave the team an opportunity to showcase their careful planning, staged programming strategies, cost management, communication and document control to ensure that the project was completed to the client and consultants satisfaction.
