Scope of works comprised of highly detailed carpentry & internal joinery, booth seating, feature lighting, new floorcoverings throughout, FFE, feature ceilings, wet areas & kitchens. Major mechanical upgrades throughout the school beyond Block B & D were also completed. Minor works to communal spaces including foyer’s, functioning amenities & staff area across the school were completed out of hours.
Delivering this high-quality project was achieved through regular site inspections to monitor progress, quality & adherence to the architects’ specifications. The project team teamed up well with the architect to deliver solutions which would achieve the architect’s vision for the space while still meeting the requirements of the client in terms of project program and cost.
The works were completed in 2 separate areas within the school posing a number of site restrictions which needed to be overcome by the site team these included.
- Alternative access routes for delivery of materials and egress for sub-contractors.
- Staging of the works to negate disruption to the school. i.e. Mechanical upgrades to the rest of the school were completed in separate stages coordinated with the school to ensure minimal disruption to staff and students.
- Works associated with the Main foyer, staff bathroom & library offices were completed after hours or scheduled with the clients stake holders to maintain normal school operations.
The completed product has resulted in revitalized and modernized spaces that cater to the needs and preferences of school staff. The updated facilities offer a blend of functionality, comfort & aesthetics that will work well in a realistic every day scenario for the staff to use.
