Secure Building Solutions successfully completed a range of works at Yallah Campus TAFE. Works involved both internal fit out and new build construction. The project involved the internal fit out of 2 new trade training facilities for horticultural and landscaping services and the construction of a new COLA area which would be used for displaying & demonstrating hoisting/ working from heights activities for students.
The COLA area was designed to work in all weather conditions so that learning activities would remain unhindered. Polycarbonate screens were installed as a façade to let in enough natural lighting while still shielding the area from winds that could possibly limit teaching activities.
SBS installed 2 new operable doors which required structural alterations to be carried out to the existing building. SBS were able to add value by trouble shooting solutions with the architect to produce a solution which would be as cost effective as possible for the client while still meeting the design intent.
Secure Building Solutions were able to source quality local trades to complete a majority of the works. Where items were specified from suppliers where lead times were extensive and far from the site, provisions were put in place to ensure that onsite activities could push on without being affected.
Effective project management and WHS management resulted in efficient programming of trade activities, minimal delays, no disruptions to the TAFE’s normal operations and an overall positive client reception to the completed works. There were a number of critically staged milestones such as structural steel crane lifts, roller door deliveries & concrete pours which were effectively managed by Secure Building Solutions to ensure that staff and students of Yallah TAFE were not disrupted.
